At Burgundy, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our travel tracking service.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide, such as your name and travel preferences.
Travel data
We store the travel information you add to our platform, including countries visited, trip dates, trip names, and any notes you add about your travels.
Imported location history
If you import a Google Timeline export, we read it to work out which countries and cities you visited and when. From it we keep the countries, the dates, the cities and the route travelled inside each trip — the line your trip's map draws. The route is simplified to the shape a map can show rather than stored at the resolution the export records, and it is bounded by your trips: days spent at home are read and then discarded, as are your home countries.
Nothing else from the file is kept. The export itself is never stored, and the raw signals inside it — the individual GPS fixes, WiFi scans and activity records a phone collects — are discarded once the import has run. Deleting a trip deletes its route along with it, and deleting your account removes all of it.
Usage information
We may collect information about how you use our service, including pages visited and features used, to help us improve the platform.
How we use your information

Information sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

Burgundy has no sharing, no feed and no public profiles, so there is no way for your travel data to become visible to another user.
Data security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
